Comedian Kevin Hart is finding out the hard way that testing his speed against a former NFL running back is a recipe for disaster. After a friendly dispute with former NFL RB Stevan Ridley over their sprinting abilities, Hart is now confined to a wheelchair due to torn muscles in his abdomen.

Hart took to Instagram to share the unfortunate outcome of his challenge with Ridley. The duo decided to settle their debate by racing the 40-yard dash, a decision that would prove disastrous for Hart. The comedian recounted the ordeal, revealing the extent of his injuries and acknowledging the reality of his age catching up with him.

During the recount, Hart lamented, “We get out there, we go run the 40-yard dash. Guys, I blew all my s–t. Tore my lower abdomen, my abductors. I don’t even know what that is, but I tore them. I tore those too. I can’t walk. Sit my ass down. This is 44.”

The video caught the attention of the celebrity community, with stars like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Will Smith chiming in with their reactions.

Even without the injury, the odds were stacked against Hart in the race. Ridley, a former LSU standout, enjoyed a successful eight-season career in the NFL, with four of those seasons spent with the New England Patriots. In 2012, Ridley recorded an impressive 1,263 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.

Hart’s decision to challenge someone of Ridley’s athletic caliber was certainly ill-advised, and it’s a lesson he’s unlikely to forget anytime soon.
